Brand-new, never been read book. May have a remainder mark
She does enemies to lovers so, so well with such a slow burn. The anticipation is the sexiest part of her storytelling.
I loved the exes aspect of an enemies to lovers. More of a forbidden lovers to soulmates to exes to lovers again. There are a lot of stories about exes coming back into each other’s orbit, both with coupled and uncoupled endings, but I can tell you that none will have it quite as good as Henry does. You know what is going to happen, but the point is how it does.
My heart ached along Harriet’s. I even found myself crying a lot for her. The rejection and pain was so acute and beautifully written. It’s why I’m such a fan of Henry!!!
It’s also refreshing that there’s more than just the romance as the conflict in Henry’s novels. It’s why she’s such a favorite of mine. Characters have more to them than their coupling. And this one hit home as an adult trying to hang on to college days friends.
