What I enjoyed: Read if you are looking for a different kind of horror novel.
I loved that this book kept me guessing. Who's the slasher? Who's the monster?
Well, it turns out everyone on a metaphorical level, but that's also what makes this story so engaging. It mixes in the fantastical with heartbreaking reality. It's beautifully and carefully done.
I have to admit, even though the answer is obvious from the start, I was genuinely surprised when the slasher reveal happened.
